Friend of Chris Simms Takes Blame for Marijuana

A childhood friend of Tennessee Titans backup quarterback Chris Simms told a jury Monday that it was him smoking pot when police officers pulled the two over in New York City last July and detected the odor of marijuana, according to a report from the Associated Press.

Officers testified that Simms was 'Zombie-like' and admitted to smoking marijuana, but Simms says the officer is mistaken, that he said his friend was smoking pot.

A mug shot of Simms released after his arrest seems to be one of the most damning pieces of evidence. In the photo Simms has red, bloodshot, glassy and squinty eyes, so I'm pretty sure he was smoking pot. But then again, maybe it was just a contact high.

The 30-year-old Simms is facing a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence.
